Cinderella
As I lay here in "the big bed", as Nadine calls it, watching Cinderella with her I was noticing how she sucks her thumb. A couple weeks back I was freaking out about her new found way to comfort, but tonight I am realizing that it will pass as did her so many other "baby like habits".
Time goes way to fast. My mother always said to me "time goes fast especially when you have children".She is correct.
Almost four years ago Nadine was born. Looking back, I wish these walls could talk. I know this house will hold onto the memories of Nadine rolling over for the first time, her first steps, first time eating baby food, first words, her pacifiers all around, her first run around the dining room table, her first bath..so many firsts, all here at this house. Some of those firsts that she'll carryout for her lifetime and other firsts which were just age appropriate acts that ended as soon as they began.
Nadine had a phase( if I should call it that ) of making believe the hallway before her bedroom door was a hideaway for her and Daddy, while Mommy takes a shower. I remember one night being just annoyed that when I stepped out the bathroom door, there they were.. but then I thought, I how cute! This make believe phase will fly by.
Time does go fast, so for now i'll embrace Nadine sucking her thumb, i'll embrace that she loves her blankie, just as i'll cherish every first that she did in this house.

I'm finding that I've been cherishing the babyish stuff too, cause when they're going on 4, you start to realize that those things are going to vanish so soon. I'm ready to freeze her! Sniff sniff.
