I'm late for the ball

The morning started as a usual one, as I'm trying to keep Nadines routine pretty much the same as we stay at my mother in laws , till we find our home.

Nadine is sleeping in her Daddys old bed. You bet she's happy to have her own room, afterall that's what she is used too. Each morning Nadine loves to eat breakfast and chat it up. Now her Nana is in the picture and Nadine is psyched to have her ear!

After breakfast I had a couple hours before we were to depart to Nadines swim class. I took the opportunity to sort thru a few boxes that I needed to unpack. As I quietly moaned and grownded while doing such a boering task. in walks my daughter to my rescue! She elaboratly explains that she's playing with Nana's scarves. At that moment I glanced in at Nanas bedroom where I saw Nana sitting at her desk working. She said to me in her english accent "its ok Patti, I gave her the scarves to play with". I turned back to Nadine who is still talking to me , when the last words I hear from her before she runs off back into Nana's room, "I'm late for the ball".

I went back to cursing out the boxes that I am in the middle of unpacking, Nana went back to her paperwork. I could here Nadine running back and forth from her her , into Nana's room and occasionally she would walk behind me, speaking pretend. When I looked up at her, this time she was dressed with new attire. Oh yes, complete dress-up has begun! On her feet are size seven, fire-engine red high heels (my eyes stared at her in amazement of her genius imagination). She also has on comfy , soft, cozy socks (in the heels) , princess underwear, a white t-shirt, a peach color scarf around her neck and to finish the outfit off, her pink bow with the ice cream cone on it. She was in total princess mode.

When I was looking at my little dress-up queen, it was that second I realized she'll be o.k during this transition from house to house. And I will be o.k as long as she is.

A couple minutes pass and I finish up my morning task. I shout to Nadine "let's get ready for swim class". She replies to me "mommy, I'm late for the ball".
