I can't believe I have to pack all this stuff! Seriously the stuff is just all over the place. How much stuff can we compile in a lifetime ? I wonder this, because the amount of stuff we gathered in the past ten years is ridiculous. Half the stuff never gets used. Partially because this house isn't big enough and the other part because I forgot about it. So as of today my goal is to consume less. How ? I'm not sure. Specially since I have a 3.5 year old who owns just as many toys as there are bones in my body. ( Maybe more). I've succeeded in handing some toys to someone else, putting some away for a rainy day, but Nadine does play with every single toy she has. Even the ones deep in her closet. She'll go get them at some point during her day. Specially during these cold snowy days. Then there are the clothes, clothes I don't wear.. I mean seriously , I don't know why I save the size 2 jeans that I haven't fit into since I was 26! Really now, I will never be a size 2 again. I just wont. I have come to terms with that since.. well never, but anyway.. What about the ribbed turtle neck sweaters from 1990, the year I graduated high school. . Tight fit, ribbed . But then I was not a double D. Well I was, but the girls seemed to look a lot different then. They were more together and high, and fit into my bra so well, as well as the ribbed sweater. What about the stuffed Animals?? I thought putting them in plastic bins would protect them all these years, but instead they smell like mil-due. So all that stuff is going out. Not to mention my shoes. My high heels which I love so much. But since I was pregnant with Nadine, I can not walk in a pair of heels without wiping out , so into the donation pile they go.
Besides all the stuff to donate or throw away, there are the breakable items we have to pack up. Today I packed up Chucks Beatles Mugs. Let me explain something to you, they were sitting up on the highest shelf in the house. I think if even President Obama asked to hold one of those mugs the answer would be "not a chance" ( from hubby that is). So today I decided it was time to take them down and pack them up. I was practically shitting in my pants , handling these mugs, as I contemplated how it would go down telling hubby I broke one of the mugs. phewww. Thankfully I did not break a mug and they are very safe and secure.
